Weather First Animation
In 2002 Christian ventured farther into the realm of video graphics when the station purchased a license for Discreet’s 3DS Max. While Christian continued to make still video graphics, he now also had the means to create 3D graphics and animations.
The Weather First animation was created to highlight a new portion of an Action 3 Newscast. Therefore, it was the first animation Christian created to not only fit within the framework of the newscast graphics package, but also the first animation to be used on a consistent basis. With that in mind Christian created the animation to be simple and clean so as not to distract from the base graphics that would be running behind it. The result came together so successfully that Christian was put in charge of creating several other 3D animations to be placed throughout the newscast.
