KM3 News Evacuation Maps
Since taking on the duties as Station Graphics Producer at KMTV, Christian was put in charge of all internal signage for the station. This meant that when the station decided to implement an evacuation policy for the staff in case of an emergency, it was left to Christian to design maps of the station highlighting routes to the exits to be placed throughout the building.
Luckily for Christian, there were architectural blueprints of the station available. These blueprints served, obviously, as the template for his signage, but they also were used as a background texture to lend more visual interest to the overall design. Ultimately, Christian wanted to create maps that were not merely functional and easy to follow, but also visually engaging enough to attract interest. Since the posters are still in use to this day, with a few minor changes, Christian feels that he definitely succeeded.
